Jennifer l. King, Esq.*

Ms. King is a registered patent attorney who has a decade of experience drafting and prosecuting patents, analyzing and rendering opinions regarding patents, and litigating patent matters. Prior to becoming associated with Grasso PLLC, Ms. King practiced patent law at large Washington, D.C. firms.

Ms. King has extensive patent prosecution experience, including drafting and prosecuting domestic patent applications; prosecuting patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty; and managing and directing prosecution of foreign patent applications by foreign attorneys, including coordinating worldwide patent portfolios.

Ms. King’s practice also has focused on performing freedom-to-operate and patent landscape studies; drafting opinions regarding scope, validity, non-infringement, and enforceability of patents; and counseling clients regarding patent prosecution strategy, scope and validity of patents, and business strategy relating to intellectual property.

Ms. King has participated in the representation of clients in patent litigation and interference matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the International Trade Commission. Ms. King has also represented clients in settlement negotiations.

Ms. King’s expertise in each of the areas of patent drafting and procurement, patent opinion drafting and counseling, and patent litigation enhances her work in the other areas.

Ms. King has experience working in numerous technologies, including pharmaceutical compositions and delivery systems, senescence, stem cell technology, recombinant DNA technology, antisense technology, generation and therapeutic use of antibodies, regenerative medicine, algaculture, tissue culture media, therapeutic use of fatty acids, therapeutic use of amino acids, self-assembled monolayers, vascular stents, balloon catheter systems, respiratory therapy systems, biomedical diagnostic and research equipment, medical waste disposal systems, herbicides, and shaped charges.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. King studied in the Genetics Ph.D. program at The George Washington University. She performed course and laboratory work in the areas of genetics, including transgenics, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, virology, oncology, and protein biochemistry.
